Job Description :
Family or Internal Medicine Physician needed to start as soon as credentialed in Primghar, IA.
- Dates of Coverage: ASAP - ongoing
- Practice Setting: The physician will primarily cover clinic M-F. It is a typical rural healthcare environment. The ER is covered by an APP M-F 8am to 5pm. May have to assist in the ER should it become busy. Average 1 patient per day in the ER. The physician will also cover the inpatient census, average 1-2 patients per day with APP support.
- M-Th 8am to 5pm Fr 8am to 12pm Clinic.
- Call Schedule: 1 night per week 5pm to 8am ER call from home. There is a house located on campus if they wish to stay. (Call ratio 1:5)
- Average Number of Patients Per Day: 10-15
- Number of Physicians in Practice: 1 MD 5 APPs
- Will Other Internal Medicine Physicians Provide Coverage During Locums Coverage Dates? potentially
- How Many Mid-Levels Provide Coverage: 5
- Will the Locum be Responsible for Supervising Other Health Care Providers? yes
- Will the Locum Tenens Physician Respond to In-House Codes? Yes
- Will the Locum Tenens Physician be Expected to Provide Backup for the ED? Yes
- Lab and Radiology on site
- Will accept IM or FM. Must be comfortable with all ages (adult, geriatric, pediatric, newborn)
- Emergency Supplies Available: Defibrillator, Airway, Crash Cart, IV Supplies, Avera E Medicine (telemedicine in ER)
- Adult outpatient and inpatient (without ICU/CCU), pelvis exam/pap smear, skin/tissue biopsy, suturing of minor lacerations, I&D (incision and drainage)
- EMR: Cerner (Hospital); Nextgen (Clinic)
- Credentialing timeframe; 30 days
